For hundreds of years, many of the Caribbean islands were under British rule. Up until the last five or ten years or so, the Caribbean islands were a place where the worlds richest and most famous people came to holiday exclusively whilst people who were less well-off simply got to see photographs and television documentaries about these magical islands.

The Caribbean consists of over 7,000 islands; cays (pronounced ‘keys’) and reefs located just Southeast of North America in the Caribbean Sea. The most famous island in the Caribbean is Jamaica, the home country of the legendary reggae musician Bob Marley. 

There are many wonderful places to visit in the Caribbean, but none more so than The Bahamas. Whatever your dreams of the perfect tropical islands, surrounded by crystal clear seas, hot sun and palm trees and gorgeous blue skies – hold them thoughts, you won’t be disappointed. The Bahamas has the clearest sea on the whole planet with visibility up to 61 meters, and if you have always dreamed of swimming under the sea amongst the coral reefs and tropical fish this is the place to do it. Boat trips are an excellent feature around the Bahamas which will take you out far enough to allow you to see whales and dolphins which frequent the waters around the islands.
